It’s Thursday and it seems like another week is flying by.
For a while I felt every email I sent I had to mention something about the ‘unprecedented’ times we are living in.
While things still feel quite surreal here in 2020, I have recently decided not to even mention current events. You likely hear and see enough between emails, texts, social media all the news networks etc….
So I am solely focused on what I do best: teaching you how to move properly, counteracting your symptoms and reducing stress.
So let’s continue with the CEREBELLUM series I have been sharing.
In today’s movement practice, you are going to learn one of the most important movements in your body PELVIC TILTING.
Your brain’s ability to feel safe and confident tipping your pelvic forward and backward (anteriorly/posteriorly) is NECESSARY FOR YOU TO WALK RIGHT.
Because many people with MS sit for much of their day, it is common for the pelvis to become immobile, poorly balanced, and UNSTABLE.
The movement map between your BRAIN & HIPS becomes blurry leading to weakness in your hip flexors, gluteals, abdominals, spine, shoulders, and neck which will really mess up your balance, posture, and walking.
The BEST WAY to clarify those brain / hip maps is to activate both your CEREBELLUM & PELVIS at the same time using the pelvic tilt.
In today’s movement session, I will show you how to pelvic tilt correctly which will help reduce:
– Heavy legs
– Unstable hips
– Low back pain
– Upper body weakness
– Poor balance
– Spasticity
– Fear of falling
